Gianmarco Tamberi has arrived late for the Summer Games in Paris.

Videos from Italian media showed the 32-year-old flag bearer of the Italian team at Rome airport in the afternoon. A plane later took off from there for Paris, where the qualifiers will take place on Wednesday. The final will follow on Saturday.
The Olympic, world and European champion had previously had to postpone his arrival due to a kidney stone. Tamberi only posted a photo from inside an airplane on Instagram.
On Sunday, Tamberi was taken to the emergency room with pain in his side. However, he wrote that he would be there in Paris and would give his all until the last jump.
