Ditaji Kambundji makes it through to the semi-finals
Ditaji Kambundji qualifies confidently for the semi-finals in the 100 m hurdles. The 22-year-old from Bern ran 12.81 seconds in the Stade de France in Saint-Denis and finished third in her preliminary heat to secure a direct ticket to the semi-finals on Friday afternoon. Kambundji said afterwards in an interview with SRF that she was happy not to have to compete in the hope heat on Thursday. The European silver medalist from Rome ran the 13th-fastest time of all those who qualified and was 41 hundredths faster than her Swiss record. To secure one of the eight places in the final on Friday, Kambundji will have to improve.
