UEFA has banned Turkish international Merih Demiral for two matches after his wolf salute in the European Championship round of 16 against Austria (2:1).
This was announced by the European association on Friday. The defender will therefore miss his team's European Championship quarter-final against the Netherlands on Saturday.
The wolf salute usually expresses affiliation or sympathy with the Turkish far-right Ülkücü movement and its ideology.
In addition to Demiral, Turkey will also be without Okun Kökcü and Ismail Yüksek in Berlin on Saturday.
