26-year-old sport climber Sascha Lehmann fails to qualify for the Summer Games in bouldering.
The Bernese climber only managed 16th place out of 20 participants. Lehmann only made it into the so-called "high zone" on one of four problems; he never made it all the way to the top. With 24.0 points, he was more than 10 points short of advancing. Lehmann had already failed to reach the final at the World Championships in Bern a year ago. By qualifying for the Paris Games, he has probably made the most of it.
The climbers from Japan dominated the qualification.
