Servette makes big Chelsea tremble. The Genevans beat the Londoners 2:1, but were unable to make up for the 2:0 defeat in the first leg.

The game seemed to take the expected course when the visitors from England took the lead in the 14th minute. Christopher Nkunku had converted a foul penalty. However, Geneva did not allow themselves to be rattled by this setback. In the 32nd minute, Dereck Kutesa played a beautiful solo pass for Jérémy Guillemenot, who equalized before the break.

It took almost half an hour in the second half for substitute Enzo Crivelli to restore hope. He was on hand to head home a cross and beat Chelsea goalkeeper Filip Jörgensen. Suddenly Servette came very close to a sensation and even had top-class chances to make it 3:1 through Gaël Ondoua (81') and Timothé Cognat (94'), but the visitors also repeatedly failed to score on the counter-attack.

In the end, Servette were left with an honorary victory against one of the greats of European football. Nevertheless, the European Cup season is over for the Swiss Cup winners before it has really begun. Last year's fairytale, when Servette reached the last 16 of the Conference League via the Europa League, will not be repeated.
