Kriens-Lucerne were never in danger at the start of the second-highest European Cup against Ademar Leon. The club from central Switzerland never trailed in the entire game, never allowed the fifth-placed team in the Spanish championship to get closer than two goals in the final 25 minutes and went on to win 34:30. The Croatian Marin Sipic shone for Kriens-Luzern with five goals.

Kadetten Schaffhausen, on the other hand, were narrowly beaten by Benfica Lisbon. The Swiss champions fell behind 1:6 early on against the third-placed team from Portugal and never took the lead. Kadetten fought their way back in the second half, but were unable to prevent the decisive goal in the final minute to make it 25:26.
