The Swedes proved to be a size too big for the duo Nils Ehlers/Clemens Wickler from Germany. The favorites prevailed 21:10, 21:13 in just over 30 minutes.

The young world number one from Sweden also dominated the Olympic tournament. They showed their special style of play again and again in Paris with jumped serves and attacks at the first contact after the reception. However, an average performance was enough for David Ahman/Jonatan Hellvig in the final. The German team, who achieved the greatest success of their career by winning silver, made it easy for the favorites to win with many mistakes. The Germans lost against the Swedes for the twelfth time (in 13 duels).
