Swimming accident 29-year-old dies while swimming in Lake Constance near Bregenz

A 29-year-old man died in a swimming accident in the Austrian part of Lake Constance on Saturday evening. According to the police, he drowned while swimming between Lochau and Bregenz during a trip on a rented motorboat.

At around 6.45 p.m., the man, who lived in Germany, got into difficulties in the water, according to the Voralberg regional police headquarters. Rescue attempts by his girlfriend and her children were unsuccessful.

Water rescue divers found the man after more than ten minutes and rescued him. Resuscitation measures were then immediately initiated and continued until he was taken to a hospital in Bregenz. However, the resuscitation was unsuccessful, according to the statement.
