Mountain accident 45-year-old mountain hiker falls to his death in Glarus Süd

A 45-year-old mountain hiker from the canton of St. Gallen fell to his death on Sunday above Lake Limmeren in Glarus Süd. He sustained fatal injuries.

The Swiss national was part of a tour led by a mountain guide with a total of four alpinists, as the Glarus cantonal police reported on Monday afternoon. The cause of the 45-year-old's fall shortly after midday on the so-called Limmerenband is currently being investigated.
