There will be a change of leadership at Basler Kantonalbank next spring. The current Deputy CEO Regula Berger will take over as CEO and Chairwoman of the Group Executive Board on March 1, 2025.

The current CEO Basil Heeb has decided to hand over the management of the BKB Group at his own request, BKB announced on Tuesday.

Regula Berger, 42, has been a member of the BKB Group Executive Board since 2019 and has been Head of Commercial Client Sales since 2021, according to the press release. She was appointed Deputy CEO last year. Since joining the Group six years ago, Berger has demonstrated a high level of implementation strength with her leadership skills, according to the press release.

After six years as CEO of BKB, CEO Heeb wishes to step down from operational management on March 1, 2025, the statement continues. The Bank Council thanks the 60-year-old Heeb for his "outstanding work": with a clear focus on the strengths of the two Group banks BKB and Bank Cler, he has succeeded in strengthening BKB's position and growing profitably, the statement continues.

Heeb will now remain with the Group until the end of March 2025 and ensure an orderly handover of the business to his successor Berger. After that, he plans to contribute his management and professional experience in mandates outside the Group.

BKB intends to nominate Regula Berger's successor as Head of Commercial Client Sales and Deputy CEO at a later date.
