Storm Bicycle bridge in the Maggia Valley open to car traffic

The bicycle bridge near Visletto, which was spared from the storm, was opened to motor traffic on Wednesday. However, only emergency vehicles or cars that have been expressly authorized to cross by the Ticino crisis management team are permitted to do so.

According to information from the Ticino cantonal police, vehicles no heavier than 3.5 tons and no wider than 1.8 metres may cross the bridge at a maximum speed of 10 kilometers per hour.

The opening of the bicycle bridge facilitates the transport of everyday goods for the population, the transport of equipment for relief and search operations and the transport of personnel from first aid organizations.
