The British King Charles III (75) and his wife Queen Camilla (76) officially bid farewell to the Japanese imperial couple on Thursday after their state visit.

Pictures showed Empress Masako giving Camilla a peck on the cheek. An unusual gesture for the otherwise rather aloof British royals. Charles shook Emperor Naruhito's hand before waving goodbye to the guests with Camilla.

Naruhito (64), who studied at Oxford, wanted to pay a visit to his alma mater this Friday at the end of the trip. The imperial couple will be spending just under a week in the UK. On Tuesday, they were officially welcomed by Charles and Camilla and honored with a state banquet at Buckingham Palace.
