Construction and society lion Richard Lugner is dead. Reports to this effect by "heute.at" and "krone.at" were confirmed to the Austrian news agency APA by well-informed sources. The 91-year-old died in his villa in Döbling.

Richard Lugner was an integral part of Viennese society. He was always a talking point, especially with the star guests he brought to the Opera Ball every year at great expense. This year, the ex-wife of rock'n'roll legend Elvis Presley, Priscilla Presley, was at his side.
Lugner ran the "Lugner City" shopping and cinema center named after him in Rudolfsheim-Fünfhaus and even ran for Federal President. In recent months, the master builder has had to battle increasingly with health problems. In July, he had to undergo a serious heart operation.
Born in Vienna in 1932, the master builder has four children and was married for the sixth time in June of this year.
