The responses from the consultation on the redimensioned wind energy project in Thundorf TG have been evaluated. Eighty questions, suggestions and demands were received from 13 people and four clubs or associations. The next step is now the vote in Thundorf on the amendment to the sub-zone plan.

Following a decision by the voters of Thundorf in favor of a minimum distance of 850 meters between turbines and buildings, the project was relaunched in 2023. Three more wind turbines are now planned. A consultation process was held in May, the results of which were summarized in a report.

All feedback from the public was examined and evaluated individually, according to a press release issued by Wellenberg Wind AG on Tuesday. There were predominantly critical questions about the project.

Among other things, the future operators agreed to the demands for the monitoring of shadow flicker and noise. A corresponding monitoring system and the publication of data on the homepage are planned.

Following a public consultation on the project in August, the electorate is expected to vote on 24 November on an amendment to the partial zoning plan, which is a condition for the project.

The two energy suppliers EKZ (Elektrizitätswerke des Kantons Zürich) and EKT (Elektrizitätswerk des Kantons Thurgau) are behind the wind energy project in Thundorf. They have joined forces under the umbrella of Wellenberg Wind AG.
