In the large city of Kharkiv in north-eastern Ukraine, at least one person has been killed and around a dozen injured by Russian shelling with glide bombs. Two of the injured were minors, announced Kharkiv's military governor Oleh Synyehubov on Telegram on Sunday. The deceased is said to be a 73-year-old man. According to Synjehubow, there were three strikes in several densely populated areas of the city. The damage was extensive and several high-rise buildings were badly damaged.

Kharkiv is one of the cities in Ukraine hardest hit by Russian shelling. The major city near the border was the target of a heavy bomb attack just the previous evening, leaving several dead and more than 50 injured.
