Elections Drunk driver drives into a furniture store in Schwarzenbach SG

A 62-year-old man drove his car into the window of a furniture store in Schwarzenbach SG on Thursday evening. A breath test revealed 1.54 per mille.

The man reversed into the shop window and drove a short distance into the store, wrote the St. Gallen cantonal police in a statement on Friday. He had previously driven over several pieces of furniture outside.

The accident resulted in property damage of several tens of thousands of francs. The man's driver's license was confiscated. He will be reported to the public prosecutor's office.
