Slackliner Jaan Roose is the first person to cross the Strait of Messina between Sicily and the Italian mainland on a rubber band just 2 centimetres wide.

The 32-year-old Estonian balances for around 3.6 kilometers on a specially stretched band across the Mediterranean. Most of the time he is about 250 meters above sea level.

An amazing feat, but not a record

But it's still not enough for an entry in the Guinness Book of Records: Roose loses his balance around 100 meters before the finish line and crashes spectacularly.
