A man suffered fatal injuries in a work accident in Turbenthal ZH on Thursday.
A 72-year-old man had left his house in the morning to do forestry work all day. When his wife could no longer reach him by phone, she went looking for him. She found him lifeless in a wooded area near Turbenthal at around 5.30 pm.
The man had been hit by a falling tree during forestry work and slipped down the steep slope. He sustained fatal injuries as a result. Due to the impassable terrain, he had to be rescued by a rescue helicopter with a cable winch.
In addition to the Zurich cantonal police, Rega and the Turbenthal Wila Wildberg fire department were also deployed.
