"Transgressive behavior" in Zurich Detained teacher partially confesses

A teacher is currently in custody on suspicion of "transgressive behavior". The man has now partially confessed.

On Tuesday, the Zurich city police arrested a teacher on suspicion of "cross-border behavior ". The school management at a school in Zurich had previously received information about the man's misconduct. As a result, the city police's child protection department and the canton of Zurich's education authority were informed immediately.

The public prosecutor's office now wants to take him into custody and has submitted an application to the compulsory measures court. As public prosecutor's spokesman Erich Wenziger told theTagesanzeigernewspaper, the teacher has partially confessed. Various data carriers have been secured and are now being analyzed.

The teacher, who had been teaching at a school in the Glattal school district for four years, was accused on the basis of a tip-off from a fellow teacher. She had observed "transgressive behavior".

First on leave, then dismissed

The president of the district education authority, Vera Lang, emphasized that the allegations were serious enough to file a report, although there were no indications of serious sexual offenses.

Following the report, the teacher was initially placed on leave and eventually suspended. The school informed the parents and made it clear that the teacher would not be returning. The investigation is ongoing.

The teacher is presumed innocent.
