Politics Almost 60 percent of companies declare wood incorrectly

More than 40 percent of the companies audited declared all wood correctly last year. Compared to the previous year, the rate has risen slightly, by six percent. This was announced by the Federal Consumer Affairs Bureau (BFK) on Monday.

A quarter of the companies declared the products partially correctly. In a third of cases, none of the inspected products were fully and correctly declared, wrote the BFK. Of the 858 products examined, two thirds were declared correctly. This is an improvement on the previous year.

In 2022, the Federal Department of Economic Affairs, Education and Research introduced a new practice under which violations of the declaration regulations are prosecuted. The practice has a preventive effect and contributes to an improvement in the declaration, it added.
