2024 Olympic Games Amherd travels to the opening of the Summer Olympics in Paris
President Viola Amherd will be visiting the Summer Olympics in Paris from Thursday until Sunday. The Sports Minister also intends to use the opportunity for various high-level meetings and talks with sports associations and organizations.

Amherd's official trip will focus on visiting as many competitions as possible involving Swiss athletes, as announced by the Federal Department of Defense, Civil Protection and Sport (DDPS) on Thursday. The Olympic program in the first week offers the opportunity to support Swiss athletes on site.
Today, Thursday, Amherd will attend the Paris Summit 2024 at the invitation of French President Emmanuel Macron and the President of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Thomas Bach. On Friday, she will attend the reception hosted by her counterpart Macron and the opening ceremony of the Summer Olympics.
Amherd has accepted an invitation to the Capitale Olympique reception hosted by the city of Lausanne and the canton of Vaud at the Maison Suisse on Sunday, the DDPS added. The Maison Suisse, organized by Presence Switzerland in the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA), is located in the garden of the Swiss embassy and serves as a communication platform.
