Dozens of people have been arrested at a pro-Palestinian demonstration in Amsterdam, according to the police. The demonstrators had reportedly not followed the instructions of the authorities and the demonstration was broken off as a result.

They had tried to reach the central Dam Square in the Dutch capital. A memorial rally for the victims of the Hamas massacre was taking place there at the same time. The police then intervened with mobile forces, horses and dogs.

Hundreds of people also demonstrated for Palestinian rights at several train stations in the country. These demonstrations were also registered and, according to the police, were initially peaceful.
