US President Joe Biden calls for the response to the Iranian missile attack on Israel to be carefully weighed up. When asked in the White House in Washington how Israel should respond to Iran, Biden replied: "That's an ongoing discussion right now. We have to look carefully at all the data. We're in constant contact with the Israeli government and our partners, and that remains to be seen."

Biden said he had not yet spoken to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu following the attack. "We have spoken to all his people and I will speak to him." The consequences for Iran remained to be seen.

Biden said that, as things stood, the attack appeared to have been repelled and ineffective. This is proof of the military capabilities of Israel and the US military. It is also proof of the intensive planning between the United States and Israel to anticipate and repel the "expected brazen attack". The US is fully behind Israel, he said.
