At least five people have been killed in a Russian artillery attack on the town of Kostyantynivka in eastern Ukraine, according to the authorities. A further five civilians were injured when the shells hit a residential area, according to reports. Kostyantynivka is located in the Donetsk Oblast. The town has repeatedly been targeted by Russian artillery. In September last year, at least 15 people died in a rocket attack.

Russian military forces repeatedly attack Ukrainian cities with rockets, artillery and even aircraft bombs. The seemingly indiscriminate attacks have so far claimed many victims among the Ukrainian civilian population. Russia has been waging a relentless war of aggression against Ukraine since February 2022.
