Following the Israeli attack in a suburb of Beirut in Lebanon, the death toll has risen to 45. This was announced by the Lebanese Ministry of Health. Forensic experts are to take DNA samples from the bodies in hospitals to determine the identity of those whose names are still unknown. At least three children aged 4, 6 and 10 were among those killed in Friday's attack.

According to Hezbollah, senior military commander Ibrahim Akil and at least 14 other members of the militia were killed in the attack. For its part, Israel's army declared in the morning that at least 16 of the fatalities were members of the Hezbollah leadership. Among the dead is said to be a man named Abu Hassan Samir, who is said to have led the training unit of the elite Radwan unit.

It is still unclear how many civilians were killed. According to the newspaper "L'Orient Le Jour", five members of a family were killed in the Israeli attack, including four women. The man who was killed was the leader of a Lebanese Civil Defense scout group.
