The race for pension fund reform is being relaunched: The Left is receiving support from eight business associations in its fight against the bill. They are opposing the slogan of the business umbrella organizations, which are in favour of the reform.

The business alliance "No to the BVG sham reform" is led by Gastrosuisse. It also includes the French-speaking Swiss employers' association Centre Patronal and smaller industry associations for bakers and confectioners, hairdressers, fitness and health centers, petrol station stores, individual restaurants and the meat trade association. They all want to actively intervene in the voting campaign for the pension fund reform, as stated in a press release on Monday.

The economic alliance argues that the bill would lead to false incentives to save and more bureaucracy and should therefore be rejected. The umbrella organizations Economiesuisse and the Employers' Association, on the other hand, describe the BVG reform as "overdue" and are actively campaigning for a Yes vote on September 22.
