On Wednesday, Rösti invited media representatives to a summer meeting in his home region. At Lake Oeschinen above Kandersteg BE, the Bernese Oberland native spoke about personal matters as well as current topics at the Federal Department of the Environment, Transport, Energy and Communications (DETEC).
For the head of the Federal Department of the Environment, Transport, Energy and Communications, for example, the reserve power plants are at the top of the priority list for the electricity supply, as the existing ones will have to be replaced in 2026. The massive price fluctuations in the electricity market should also be limited.
Despite the adoption of the Electricity Act, the goal of providing Switzerland with sufficient electricity is a hurdle race, said Rösti. This is particularly the case due to objections, for example to the solar project in Grengiols VS.
