"Can I finish my answer?" Harris kept saying, while Baier interrupted her. It was right that the American people wanted to have a discussion about migration before the election, said the 59-year-old. But what people don't want are "political games", Harris said, referring to her Republican rival Donald Trump.
Baier asked Harris whether she owed an apology to the relatives of women who were murdered by migrants. "First of all, let me say that these are tragic cases. There's no doubt about that," US Vice Harris responded. "I cannot imagine the pain that the families of these victims have suffered from a loss that should not have happened." The US migration system has been broken for a long time. Congress is responsible for fixing it, Harris said.
It is Harris' first major television interview with a conservative media outlet since she officially became the Democratic nominee in August.
