According to the Shiite militia, more than 320 Katyusha rockets were fired at Israeli military bases, among others. The information could not initially be independently verified. According to Israeli media reports, 200 rockets and around 20 drones were fired at Israel from Lebanon, most of which were intercepted.
Hezbollah announced a new speech by its Secretary General Hassan Nasrallah. He would also address Israel's claim that it had thwarted a Hezbollah attack with its own attacks in Lebanon.
Israel had previously stated that the military had attacked numerous targets in southern Lebanon with around 100 fighter jets in an "act of self-defense". According to the Lebanese Ministry of Health, two people were injured in the attacks.
