The Iran-backed Houthi militia in Yemen has once again attacked the Israeli coastal metropolis of Tel Aviv with drones, according to its own statements. The Israeli military announced that it had intercepted a drone off the coast in the greater Tel Aviv area. Another drone fell on open ground.

The Houthi declared that the drones had reached their target. The militia had used the allegedly new drones called "Jaffa", which Huthi military spokesman Jahja Sari first mentioned in July. Tel Aviv is around 1,800 kilometers away from Yemen.

There was a rocket alert in the city of Bat Jam, south of Tel Aviv. There were initially no reports of damage or casualties.

The Houthi militia had flown a drone loaded with explosives towards Tel Aviv in July. It hit a house in the center of the city. One man was killed and several other people were injured. Sari said afterwards that the new "Jaffa" drone could penetrate interception systems and was not detected by radar systems.
