One day after the deadly drone attack in Tel Aviv, Israel's military has responded with a direct counter-attack in Yemen, according to media reports. Oil facilities in the Yemeni port city of Hudaida were hit in an airstrike by the USA and Israel, reported the Huthi-affiliated television station Al-Masirah. There was initially no official confirmation from Israel.

A reporter from the Axios news portal reported, citing a US government representative, that Israeli fighter jets had attacked in Yemen. The Saudi Arabia-funded news channel Al-Arabija reported, citing unnamed sources, that it was a joint attack by Israel, the UK and the USA. The latter countries have repeatedly bombed targets in Yemen in response to Houthi attacks. According to Al-Arabija, twelve Israeli aircraft were involved, including F-35 fighter jets.
Pictures on social media showed a large fire at the port, with high flames and a dark column of smoke in the sky.
The Israeli military did not want to comment on the reports of the alleged counter-attack.
On Friday, one man was killed and at least eight other people were injured when a combat drone hit the center of Tel Aviv. The drone, which was loaded with explosives, struck a residential building, as the Magen David Adom rescue service reported on the online platform X. According to the army, the long-range drone came from Yemen. The Houthi militia spoke of an attack on an "important target" in Tel Aviv. Israel's Defense Minister Joav Galant announced retaliation.
