According to official reports, at least five people have been injured in a Ukrainian attack on the southern Russian region of Belgorod. According to Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov, several shells hit a section of road between Belgorod and Shebekino. Four people were injured and several vehicles were damaged. In the nearby village of Vosnesenkovka, a woman was injured when a drone hit a private house. The information could not be independently verified.

Russia also regularly attacks civilian targets in the neighboring country. One of the most frequently shelled cities is the Ukrainian city of Kharkiv, only around 30 kilometers from the border. In turn, Ukrainian artillery and drones of the armed forces repeatedly take aim at targets across the state border in the southern Russian region of Belgorod. Russia launched an offensive against Kharkiv in the summer with the declared aim of creating a buffer zone. However, the Russian attacks came to a halt just a few kilometers behind the border.
