Politics Iranian general among those killed in airstrike in Beirut

An Iranian brigadier general was also killed in the Israeli airstrike on the Hezbollah headquarters in Beirut. Abbas Nilforushan, deputy head of operations of the Revolutionary Guards, suffered martyrdom together with Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah, Iranian media reported unanimously. The Revolutionary Guards are Iran's elite military force and are considered far more powerful than the regular army. The general's death is likely to increase the pressure on Tehran.
