According to its foreign minister, Israel has set the capital "Beirut on fire" with its latest airstrikes in Lebanon. The target of the major offensive by the Israeli military was the financial structure of the pro-Iranian Hezbollah in Beirut and other parts of the country, wrote Minister Israel Katz on Platform X.

"Massive fires" were seen after more than 15 buildings were attacked. Residents had previously been called to evacuate, Katz explained. Videos of the attacks published by the Israeli military showed, among other things, an airstrike that caused two multi-storey buildings to collapse.

"Hezbollah has paid a heavy price for its attacks on northern Israel and its rocket attacks and will continue to do so," Katz wrote. "We will attack the Iranian abettor until it collapses."

According to its own statements, the army attacked the Al-Kard Al-Hassan Association, a kind of Hezbollah bank. It administers funds used to finance Hezbollah's activities, including the purchase of weapons and payments to members of Hezbollah's military wing.
