At its most recent meeting, Ukraine's top military leadership decided on the future production and use of drones. Various factors were taken into account in the decision, from the popularity of certain drones among the troops to the use of so-called long-range drones, President Volodymyr Zelensky said in his evening video address.

"Very important" decisions were made during consultations with Deputy Supreme Commander-in-Chief Vadim Sukharevskyi, Deputy Prime Minister Mykhailo Fedorov and Air Force Commander Mykola Oleshchuk.

Selensky did not give any details. "Time will tell how these decisions will affect the front line."

Some time ago, the Ukrainian military created a separate branch of the armed forces for the use of drones alongside the armored forces, infantry and artillery. A large number of these unmanned aircraft are already being manufactured in Ukraine. So far, long-range drones are the only way for Kiev to attack targets deep inside Russian territory.
