The ministry condemned the attacks in the strongest possible terms and spoke of a violation of international law. "It is well known that paramedics do not take part in combat operations. They transport the dead to their final resting place and dress the wounds of the wounded until they arrive at the hospital. Does Israel want to shed blood without end?"
Since the start of the new confrontations between Israel's military and Hezbollah a year ago, more than 1,600 people have been killed in Lebanon, including more than 100 children and almost 200 women, according to official figures. A further 8,400 people were injured. The Ministry of Health does not distinguish between civilians and Hezbollah fighters.
