For the second night in a row, Russia has subjected Ukraine to heavy air strikes using various types of weapons.

According to initial reports from the Ukrainian authorities, at least four people were killed - two by a missile hit on a hotel in Kryvyi Rih and two more by drone attacks on Zaporizhzhya.

According to the Ukrainian air force, 5 Russian cruise missiles and 60 of 81 drones deployed were intercepted. Ten drones were still flying in Ukrainian airspace as of 9.00 a.m. local time (8.00 a.m. CEST). Other drones had crashed.

Three Kinschal (Dagger) hypersonic missiles and two Iskander missiles could not be shot down, as Air Force Commander Mykola Oleshchuk announced on Telegram. The military's figures cannot be verified in detail, but provide a largely accurate overview of the scale of the attack.

According to observers, the attack was once again primarily aimed at Ukraine's energy system. On Monday, Russia launched an attack against Ukraine with 127 missiles and cruise missiles as well as more than 100 combat drones. This was the highest number reported by the Ukrainian military in two and a half years of war.
