Bavaria So far no evidence of further injuries in Munich

Following the police shooting of a suspicious person in the center of Munich, there is so far no evidence of further injuries. According to the police, the suspect himself was shot and injured.

Police officers had previously seen that the person himself was "apparently carrying a firearm", the police announced on Platform X. There were initially no indications of any other suspects.

According to the police, numerous officers and a helicopter are deployed in the area around the Israeli Consulate General and the Nazi Documentation Center. Witnesses had reported several shots being fired in the area.

The police called on the public to avoid the area and to make footage of the operation available to the investigators via a dedicated upload portal. Roadblocks were set up. The background to the operation remained unclear at first.
