The Russian troop deployment was then smashed by Ukrainian artillery and kamikaze drones. Seven infantry fighting vehicles and two tanks were destroyed in the process. The information could not be independently verified.
In total, around 80 Russian advances were recorded on the front lines in eastern Ukraine over the course of the day, as the General Staff in Kiev announced in its evening situation report. According to the report, the largest focal points were near Pokrovsk and Kurakhove. The Russian attacks, which were all repulsed, were also supported by fighter jets.
Russian units have been trying to expand their territorial gains around the Donbass for months. In doing so, they are suffering heavy losses in terms of soldiers and material, while achieving only minor successes.
