Computer experts from the Ukrainian military intelligence service have reportedly disrupted Russian banking systems, mobile phone and internet providers, at least briefly. The attack took place on Tuesday morning, several Ukrainian media reported, citing intelligence sources.

Russian customers were unable to access their online banking or pay by card for hours.

Customers saw information on their Russian bank's apps that there was a system failure. The disruptions should be rectified as soon as possible. The services were working again on Wednesday.

Ukrainian secret services regularly claim successful online attacks on Russian resources. However, they have not yet succeeded in carrying out a sensational attack like the one on the Ukrainian mobile phone provider Kyivstar in December last year. Its services were completely paralyzed for days.

Ukraine has been defending itself against the Russian invasion for more than two years.
