US forces say they have killed 37 terrorists in two airstrikes in Syria, including several high-ranking leaders of the terrorist organizations Islamic State (IS) and the al-Qaeda-affiliated group Hurras al-Din. The attacks took place on September 16 and 24, according to the US Central Command Centcom. There was no evidence of civilian casualties in either operation. The airstrikes were part of efforts to dismantle the terrorist organizations and prevent attacks on US soldiers and allies.

The target of the attack on September 16 was reportedly an IS training camp in central Syria, in which at least 28 IS members were killed. On September 24, US units carried out an attack in the north-west of the country in which nine people were killed, including a high-ranking leader of Hurras al-Din. The USA is leading an international coalition in Iraq and Syria to fight the Islamic State (IS) terrorist militia.
