In China, an inexperienced passenger on an Air China flight caused an incident that led to the flight being canceled. Flight CA2754 from Quzhou to Chengdu was scheduled to depart on the evening of July 4 when the passenger, who was flying for the first time, opened the emergency exit to find a restroom.
This accidentally triggered the emergency slide, which led to the evacuation of the passengers. The crew and other passengers were shocked by the sudden opening of the slide, as the specialist portal "Aerotelegraph" reports.
Possible threat of imprisonment
After the incident, all passengers were accommodated in hotels, as no more flights were available that day and the plane was unable to take off.
The passenger was questioned by the police and may be held responsible for the costs of the incident. In China, such actions can result in heavy fines and even imprisonment.
In 2017, for example, a passenger was imprisoned for twelve days after accidentally opening the emergency exit of an airplane and triggering the slide. It is not known what punishment the woman on flight CA2754 is facing.
