The German Federal Police have arrested an internationally wanted manslayer at Frankfurt am Main Airport. He is believed to have been responsible for a manslaughter in South Korea, officials announced on Thursday.

He had been wanted on an international arrest warrant since 2020.
The South Korean authorities accuse the man of beating his superior to death with other accomplices in 1997. He then allegedly stole his wallet containing the equivalent of 160 dollars.
The 60-year-old Italian wanted to travel from Portland in the USA to Rome on Wednesday and was arrested during a stopover in Frankfurt. He is now to be extradited to South Korea. There he faces life imprisonment.
