A dispute between two men in Baden caused a major police operation on Saturday morning. One of the brawlers fired several shots at his 34-year-old opponent, who was injured. The suspected shooter was arrested.

The police were alerted at around four o'clock in the morning that several shots had been fired in Baden near a hotel on Mellingerstrasse, the Aargau cantonal police announced on Saturday afternoon. They found an injured male person in the immediate vicinity of the crime scene. After initial treatment by police officers, the 34-year-old Swiss man was taken to hospital.

Based on the initial findings and statements from informants, one person quickly became the focus of the manhunt, according to the police. A 33-year-old Swiss national from the region was subsequently arrested at his home shortly after the incident. The public prosecutor's office has opened proceedings and the Aargau cantonal police have begun an investigation.
