The replacement bridge in Cevio TI has been open to general traffic since Saturday morning. The army built the replacement for the Visletto bridge in the Maggia Valley.

There were still some restrictions until Saturday. For example, traffic was restricted to one lane and only vehicles up to 32 tons were permitted.
The new bridge was built around one hundred meters north of the destroyed Visletto Bridge. According to the army, the structure should also be able to withstand rising river levels.
The bridge over the Maggia at Visletto in the municipality of Cevio was torn away during a storm in the Maggia Valley on the last weekend of June. Several side valleys were then temporarily inaccessible by land. At least seven people died and one is still missing.
