The Rhaetian Railway (RhB) announced on Saturday morning that Bernina Suot station is expected to be out of service until the start of operations on Monday morning. Repair work is being carried out on the overhead line, the tracks and a switch. The accident was not related to the storms, the RhB said on request.
Trains are running between St. Moritz and Pontresina GR and between Tirano and Ospizio Bernina, it added. Rail replacement buses will run between Pontresina and Poschiavo GR. The operation of Bernina Express journeys on Sundays is under review. Individual solutions are being sought for customers of the Graubünden rail freight company.
