From SBB management to the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland (FHNW): Markus Jordi will be President of the FHNW University of Applied Sciences Council from the beginning of next year. The 62-year-old Jordi will replace Ursula Renold after twelve years. The four governments of the FHNW cantons elected Jordi.

The governments of the cantons of Aargau, Solothurn and Basel announced on Friday that Jordi is a leading personality. The governments elected the SBB manager for the 2025-2028 term of office.

According to the State Treaty, the UAS Council is responsible for the strategic management of the University of Applied Sciences Northwestern Switzerland. The Council consists of nine to thirteen people from the areas of society, education and science, business and culture.

Jordi has been a member of the SBB Group Executive Board and Head of Human Resources at the Federal Railways for 17 years. In the future, he will work for SBB with a maximum workload of 50 percent and will continue to manage individual dossiers, SBB wrote in a press release.
