  • The place-name signs of Bernese Jura villages that disappeared four months ago have reappeared.
  • At the festival of the Jura people in Delsberg JU, members of the separatist Béliers placed the signs in front of the parliament building.
  • In front of the parliament, the Beliers chanted "Libérons Belprahon", referring to the Bernese community that wants to join the Jura.

The group had received the signs, Bélier activist Jonathan Gosteli told Keystone-SDA. The signs had previously been displayed on a trailer pulled by a tractor during the Mouvement autonomiste jurassien (MAJ) parade.

"We will not leave you by the roadside" was written on the trailer - an allusion to the French-speaking villages that have remained with the canton of Bern.

In front of the parliament, the Beliers chanted "Libérons Belprahon", referring to the Bernese municipality that wants to join the Jura. They also chanted "Vive le Jura libre de Boncourt à La Neuveville". Their action remained peaceful. The theft of the place name signs cost the canton of Bern around CHF 10,000.
