A man has died after several shots were fired in a residential building in Brussels. According to the public prosecutor's office, one or more armed suspects had entered a residential building in a busy district of the Belgian capital in the early morning.

Shots were then reportedly fired inside the house in the Brussels municipality of Ixelles. The man, aged around 60, died, another man and a woman were injured and taken to hospital, but their lives are no longer in danger. An active search is underway for the perpetrator or perpetrators, it was reported. The motive is unknown and the investigation is ongoing.
