A technical fault at German air traffic control has been causing major problems at Frankfurt Airport since Friday morning. According to the website of the airport operator Fraport, there are considerable delays in operations and flight cancellations.

The company said there were around 60 cancellations. "The impact is limited," said a spokeswoman. Passengers are advised to regularly check the flight status on the websites of the respective airlines, Fraport said.

German air traffic control announced that there had been a problem with data exchange. This has now been rectified. The authority did not initially have any more detailed information.
